Pon Paavalar Mandram (Tamil Poets' Society) was established in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia on 19th April 2002. The objectives of the society are:
To enhance the knowledge and skills in Tamil language and literature; To create talented members in Tamil Literature, History, Grammar, Writing, Poetry, Arts and Social Sciences; To foster friendly relationship between the members and Malaysian Community in general; To encourage members embrace the Principles of Rukun Negara
The Pon Paavalar Society works closely with Tamil educationists worldwide to provide wide knowledge on Tamil language and its uniqueness to Tamils living all over the world.
The society is committed to enhance its services for the development of Tamil language and literature to Tamils. It held a fund raising dinner on 20th August 2006, under the patronage of Dato' G.Rajoo, Member of Executive Council of Perak State Government to enhance the financial status of the society in order to carry out many programs and iniatives related to Tamil language development.
Poet Tamilmani Ellon, Ipoh is the advisor of the Pon Paavalar Society. It is headed by Arul K.Arumugam to create a foundation known as 'Arul Nitiyam' to promote the literary works of the aspiring Tamil writers. To purchase a building for the organisations in order to conduct the functions of Persatuan Pon Paavalar. Kaninyar C.Samy AMP, PPT, PJK Deputy Chairman, Kavinyar Na.Ku. Mullaichelvan Secretary, Kavinyar K.Kootharasan PJK, Kavinyar V.Vanitha B.A.(Hons) as Treasurer, Exco Council Members: Mr.P.Krishnan, Kaninyar K.L.Narayanan PPN, Mr.K.Baskaran, Mrs. Mary, Mr.R.Gopal PJK. and Kavinyar M.Veerakumaran.
